you can upload your "arts" or in dA terms, your "deviations". It can be anything as long as you yourself made it. Cosplay photos like the ones you have are pretty much acceptable. What's unacceptable here in dA, is if you turn this into facebook-looking, like uploading artworks that aren't yours.
notable examples would be pics of existing animes/movies, or you get a pic from someone else and post it here, these stuffs are unacceptable.

To get friends, here's the start.

though you can make much friends from "watching" deviants here. since most deviants are artists, they're nice and you'd less likely find some dramas here, trust me.
(though that's not 100% reassurance, but people here, being artists, comes as quite different than those in fB)
